Sweet kitten Alan is 4 months old on Christmas Eve. Today's painting was just for fun. Notice the deployed kitten claws ready to snag!

Garibaldi Wharf, 24x30, oil

This is the next step in the painting 'Docked'. I how have all of the canvas covered. Next I will go in and add detail and color.

Docked, oil, 24x30

I am working on this painting for the Honeycutt's. As you can see it is a fishing boat docked at a commercial wharf. This is the start. I like to layout the composition first in burnt sienna. I don't start adding color until I have the composition perfect.

Snarled, oil, 16x12

Here is the finished painting. In the actual painting the colors are not this intense. Don't know why my camera chose these colors. Finished this painting in time for the joint OSA - Portland Maritime Museum Show in May.

This is a painting in progress of a snarled head-sail sheet on a Lewmar self-tailing winch. The winch is on the sailing vessel Shango. We were guests of Amy and Roger Block aboard Shango when she sailed from the Dominican Republic to the Bahamas in 2010. I hope to have this painting completed for the joint Nautical Show in May with the Oregon Maritime Museum and Oregon Society of Artists.

New Seasons at Raleigh Hills, December 2011

You can see 6 of my paintings on display at the New Seasons market in Raleigh Hills. The exhibit will be up the month of December. These are three of the paintings on display.

Icy Moon, Oil 16x20

Just a crow on a branch basking in icy moonlight. I love crows. They are clever, smart, curious and misunderstood.

Margo & Buzz, Oil, 12x12

Margo was my foster and was adopted a couple of years ago by a family in Olympia. She is bonded to Buzz, the black bunn. The family commissioned this painting.
