I just recently saw the exhibition you had in the Tigard Public Library. I fell in love with your work and would always stop to gaze for several moments on my way in and out (usually with other patrons crowded around)! One of my favorites were the close ups of their precious mouths. One in particular was a smaller painting of a black and white Rabbit). I am a personal trainer who has been out of work for the last few months but have finally just started with a great gym and am looking forward to being able to buy some of your work one day! Thank you so much for sharing what you do and what you are promoting about these amazing animals. Jen Jones
I am an artist, an animal lover, and a volunteer with the Rabbit Advocates - a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting rabbit welfare by educating the public about the care of domestic rabbits and finding loving homes for unwanted or abandoned rabbits.
I studied fine art at Oregon State University under the guidance of Nelson Sandgren and I live in Portland, Oregon with my husband, 2 cats and 2+ rescue rabbits (the number is ever-changing).
I paint rabbits on chairs (and in other venues) because I believe that rabbits belong in the house with their caregivers.... not outside in a hutch. They are extremely social and sentient companions who deserve a caring, loving and interactive home. I am creating these paintings to raise money for the Rabbit Advocates General Fund. If you see something you like and wish to purchase one, please contact me at LorrainesPaintings@gmail.com and indicate which painting you're interested in. If you'd just like to make a donation, please visit the Rabbit Advocates website at http://www.adoptarabbit.org/ Your donation goes to help abandoned rabbits find loving homes.
